First Cleanse: Day 4 - 5

Yesterday (Day 4) was a little rough for me.

Near the end of the day I wasn't feeling very well.

I can only assume that it was because of the toxins that have been emptying in to my body. The book said that the 4th Day would be one of the tougher days. I guess it was right.

Today I'm feeling much better. I took a walk this morning and it was nice. It seems like I have a little more energy than I have had. During the first part of the cleanse, I didn't really feel like doing much. I didn't have much drive and my energy level wasn't that great. It seems like things are picking up though. I (and my body) have gotten use to the process and the first few days are always the hardest because your body is moving so much junk out of your system. So...I'm almost at the half way point.

I think I've decided to go the 10 days and see from there whether I want to go another 4 or 5 days, making it 2 weeks. IDK - We'll see.

My mouth still tastes funny. But, I've noticed an interesting development. It seems like my skin has gotten softer, which was interesting. So, if you're looking for softer skin, then that could very well be one of the benefits of doing this cleanse.

I took the laxative today instead of the Sea Salt. I just wasn't in the mood to drink that quart of salt. Even though I suggested you use the Sea Salt over the laxative, the laxative can be useful on days when you need to jump out of bed and go. I'm usually pretty active in the mornings. I guess I'm a morning person.

I haven't been seeing the weight loss numbers that I was told I would see, so I decided to reduce the Maple Syrup to only 1 tablespoon like the book suggested I do if I want to lose more weight. I actually like the lemonade better with only 1 tablespoon of Maple Syrup. Seems a little less peculiar in taste and tastes more like lemonade. And also, I'm going to take the drink 6 - 7 times a day instead of 8 (which the book also suggested for weight loss).

Overall - I'm enjoying the cleanse. It's kind of refreshing not having to worry about what you're going to eat next and whether it's healthy or not. It takes that stress associated with food away.

First Cleanse: Day 2 - 3

I'm on Day 3 of my Master Cleanse.

All seems well at the moment.

It was interesting... Yesterday, my mouth started to get all funky and taste weird. I noticed there was like a film or something on my tongue, which I brushed off. I thought that was weird. My mouth is still a little funky though. I assume that's part of the cleanse. My body is probably just getting all that junk out of my system.

Yesterday I decided to do the Herbal Laxative in the morning instead of the Sea Salt drink. I don't like that option. If you drink the Seal Salt in the morning, you can get that done with and obviously the elimination process as well. If you take the Laxative in the mornings instead of the Sea Salt, you're going all day like a ticking time bomb. You don't know when you're going to need to run to the bathroom.

I would suggest (personally) that you do the Sea Salt instead. Overall - I think it's just a lot better option.

If you're having trouble drinking the Lemonade, here are a few tips:

Obviously, the first few days will be more powerful and intense. You get use to it after awhile. But if you need help getting it down, either plug your nose while drinking (that seems to take away the punch) and/or distract yourself from the fact that you have to drink it. Do something while you're sipping it. Just remember to drink it within the 5 - 10 minutes.

Some people would rather chug it and get it over with. Some people would rather sip it. If you're going to chug it, be careful. It can choke you up and it will end up all over your kitchen counter instead of in your stomach. lol

I've noticed that a few of my lemons have been going bad. Be sure to pay attention to which ones are starting to turn bad. You don't want to have to throw any out. They tend to be expensive when doing this over a long period of time.

I had a lot of cramping yesterday, but I think that was because of the morning laxative I took. I had some cramping this morning, but I think that was from the evening dose of laxative. I seem to be ok at the moment.

I went to the gym this morning and walked... roughly about 2 miles or so. That was refreshing. I can't really tell if my energy level has gone up. I know that my body is being flooded by toxins and is trying to process it all, so I might be a little sluggish for a few days. I assume that after these initial few days of being on the cleanse, I'll get more energy. My body won't be as taxed to get those toxins out and will have more energy to go around.

Other than that - I'm doing ok. I'm hanging in there. The first day was really tough and I wasn't sure I'd have the Will Power to do this, but I've gotten use to the process and I'm pretty confident I'll be able to finish the cleanse.

The big question is... Do I go just the 10 days, or longer. I don't know yet. We'll see.

First Cleanse: Day 1 - 2

A couple days ago I started the Master Cleanse.

I'll tell you one thing right now. This is not a program for the weak. In order to do this program and to be successful, your Will Power must be strong enough to withstand it.

You have to ask yourself: How important is food in my life?

Do I live to eat, or do I eat to live?

With this program, you have to make some serious sacrifices. But I can tell you right now, it will be worth it.

The first day was intense! I can honestly say, I've never done anything like this before. I've personally made a habit of cleansing on a regular basis, but I had never tried this cleanse before. I've tried other products and they've worked well, but I've never seen these kinds of results so quick and so powerfully. It truly is The Master Cleanse.

The first morning I took the Salt Water drink. It was actually pretty good. It tasted like chicken broth, which surprised me. I thought it would taste nasty. But...after the first few ounces, it was hard to drink the rest of the quart full of solution. I think it's just a matter of getting use to the taste and the process. I had never done it before, so it seemed difficult to tolerate. I was able to drink the rest of the solution though.

I was told that I would start eliminating the solution within the hour, but I didn't trust the source as to what they were saying. Sure enough, within the hour, I started to eliminate the Salt Water drink. It was weird, but pleasant. It wasn't like diarrhea. It really felt like it was cleaning me out.

So...I started taking the lemonade drink. The first few times were so very very powerful! The cayenne pepper was intense!!! You kind of have to choke it down. I found that today (the second day), the drink hasn't been as intense. So, I think I'm getting use to it.

The first day I was planning on doing 10 glasses of lemonade, but only did 8. I think I'll just do 8 glasses from now on. We'll see how it goes.

Wish me luck! :)

Master Cleanse Intro

For those of you who don't know what this program is, it is also known as the Lemonade Cleanse.

You drink lemonade for days on end and it cleans you out. There is one obvious benefit that most people take advantage of. It's the fact that you tend to lose weight while doing this cleanse. I guess Beyonce took this drink and lost 20 lbs before a movie shoot. So, it's become very popularized. However...most people don't do it right, so it ends up not being such a positive experience.

But please!!! If you're going to do it, don't think you can do it on your own without some guidance. I thought the very same thing. I would go get some Lemonade concentrate, some store shelf Maple Syrup and maybe some Cayenne capsules.

!!!STOP!!!

If you're going to do it, do it right. Please - If you're going to do it, go to your local book store and look for this book: The Complete Master Cleanse by Tom Woloshyn. Why? Because this program is sooo very intense and effective, you need to follow it step by step. It's one of those things you have to ease in to.

The purpose of the program is to cleanse your body of toxins. If you don't pay attention to what is going in to your body before hand, then you might be overloading an already overloaded body.

If and when you decide to do this cleanse, you need to take about 4 or 5 days before hand and work on your diet. I would suggest eating only vegetarian. Work your way from solids to liquids, so that by the time your body is ready to do the cleanse, it's prepped and ready to go. Otherwise, it will be like trying to start a flooded engine. It will take the cleanse a whole lot longer to work, it won't be as effective, and you won't enjoy the process like you would if you had followed the guidelines.

And again - Read the book!!!

Stay tuned for my Master Cleanse Journal entries! :D
